I always enjoy coming to Collin Street Bakery, the food and baked goods are great, and the staff is always friendly. However, every time I visit, I can’t help but notice how incredibly hot it is inside. It makes me feel bad for the employees who have to work in those conditions for hours. If it’s uncomfortable as a customer, I can only imagine how difficult it is for the staff. I really hope management looks into improving the air conditioning or ventilation because the employees deserve a cooler, safer, and more comfortable workplace. Other than that, it’s a wonderful place, and I’d love to see this issue addressed.

I’ve been twice now. Both times, the baked goods have been great! I do wish they prepared more for the consumers. I went the 2nd time and they were not serving some of the things I specifically desired to come back for. This time, I was hungry and wanted to order from the deli. I was disappointed with what they served me. It was hard to enjoy due to the incredible messiness. Nobody wants food this messy. Additionally, it was incredibly greasy. The taste was fine, but would’ve been much more enjoyable had they portioned everything more reasonably and put a little more effort into preparing my food.

They offer petite chicken salad sandwiches, but we’re hungry so I ordered a croissant chicken salad sandwich and he said it comes with much more meat and it’s $3.50 more. This is what I got. Needless to say we’re getting our money back. That sandwich was $9.25. Do not go there for sandwiches.

The bakery selection was excellent. We tried a mango Danish and it was very good. The mixed greens with chicken salad was filling. The small garden salad was what my family member ordered. We liked the baked potato salad. The location is close to the highway. We sat on the patio and had a great meal.

I have loved Collin Street Bakery products for years and have even mail ordered. We were pleasantly surprised to find this on a trip across Texas. You have to stop! Whether you like fruitcake or not, they have plenty of other delicious bakery goods, breads, coffee, deli and snacks. Try some free samples. It was hard to select from all the choices, but we left with a some cheesecake, lattes and a cherry 🍒 fudge pecan cake. ❤️
